URGENT! Our shelter is in crisis. The increase in dogs and cats has skyrocketed expenses. Public aid only covers 11% of the annual costs, and private donations are not enough. Our facilities are collapsing, and the animals are stressed. We owe over 10,000 euros to veterinarians, and the bills keep increasing. In May alone, we received 37 dogs. PLEASE, HELP US (donate, become a member, volunteer, or foster)

Salem is the living proof that no matter how long a cat has lived in the shelter, there are lots of room for improvement, change and growth. He’s gone from being a shy cat who would not allow cuddles to now enjoy them significantly.

One of our volunteers started working with him and while he wouldn’t allow to be touched at first, now he doesn’t only accept cuddles but loves them! One wonders how he could live without them in the past! He will let you know how much he likes you to touch him by rubbing and purring lots.

He has never shown signs of aggression and mixes well with the other cats in the area. Just like other cats who haven’t been lucky enough to live with humans in the past, he’s more used to life with cats than with humans, and this makes him a bit reserved at first.

If given the time and training needed, we’re sure Salem will only increase the super friendly, loving side he’s started showing!
