URGENT! Our shelter is in crisis. The increase in dogs and cats has skyrocketed expenses. Public aid only covers 11% of the annual costs, and private donations are not enough. Our facilities are collapsing, and the animals are stressed. We owe over 10,000 euros to veterinarians, and the bills keep increasing. In May alone, we received 37 dogs. PLEASE, HELP US (donate, become a member, volunteer, or foster)

PRESENTATION

THE SHELTER

Asociación Protectora de Animales y Plantas del Bajo Aragón (APAP Bajo Aragón) is a non-profit organization which helps animals, mainly dogs and cats. We currently have around 70 dogs and 40 cats living in our animal shelter in Alcañiz, and more staying with foster families. We are always looking for friendly people willing to adopt or foster an animal. Our organization is run entirely by volunteers.

FINANCING

We are partly funded by Alcañiz municipality, but our main source of income are membership contributions and donations. We are always in need of funds to pay for food and water, vaccinations, castrations, deworming, parasite prevention, medical care and the general upkeep of our shelter.

BECOME AN ASOCIATE

As a member of our association, you support us with a small monthly contribution (starting from just 10€) to care for our animals. You are also welcome to come to the shelter and help out. Contact us for more info on how to become a member.

WALK DOGS WITH US!

Going for walks is key for dog’s physical and mental wellbeing, and our dogs never leave the shelter unless volunteers bring them outside! We are creating two different groups of volunteers to walk dogs together: One on Saturdays at 12pm and another one on Sundays at 12pm. If you’re interested, please email us at com.apapbajoaragon@gmail.com. Our dogs will be forever grateful!

TO ADOPT

All animals available for adoption have a microchip and passport. They have been tested for common diseases (Leishmania for dogs, FeLV and FIP for cats). Adult animals are fully vaccinated and castrated. Adoptive families of puppies or kittens must castrate and vaccinate the animal once it reaches the appropriate age.

Adoptive families pay a contribution which partly covers our costs for food and medical care:

Dogs:
Adult : 180€
Puppy: 120€

Cats:
Adult  : 120€
Kitten : 60€
