URGENT! Our shelter is in crisis. The increase in dogs and cats has skyrocketed expenses. Public aid only covers 11% of the annual costs, and private donations are not enough. Our facilities are collapsing, and the animals are stressed. We owe over 10,000 euros to veterinarians, and the bills keep increasing. In May alone, we received 37 dogs. PLEASE, HELP US (donate, become a member, volunteer, or foster)

HistorY : Fredy was found in an old paper factory together with his sister Hira when he was about 7 months old. Since then they have been with us at the shelter. They tested slightly positive for leishmaniasis, presumably contracted by their mother. Both are treated with Leishguard syrup four times a year, so we have the disease well under control. The last blood test was negative and must be repeated annually for monitoring.

Personality : Fredy is a super intelligent dog, eager to learn, and just waiting for someone to give him the love he has never had. Poor guy has spent his time in the shelter since we found him at 7 months old, and it’s been seven years now that he’s been locked up here without anyone wanting to adopt him.

As you can see in the video, he loves contact with people and is super tender and cooperative. He quickly understands what you ask of him and implements it in no time. He primarily seeks human contact and to establish a connection with you, so we are completely sure that he will be a loyal companion for any family that opens their heart to him.

He gets along well with other dogs, is very stable, and approaches new situations openly and curiously. One of the differences between Fredy and Hira is that Fredy doesn’t need his sister as much to be confident in himself and will probably enjoy having a home where he is the only dog and can enjoy all the attention that he has never had for himself alone. In the shelter, Fredy is exposed to many stressful moments, so he can be agitated in some situations, for example, when he is put on a leash or when new people enter his area, although all this is solely due to external factors, and we are sure that his behavior would be completely different outside the shelter.

Fredy and his sister Hira were found in the old paper factory in Alcañiz at only 7 months old, alone and without their mother, so they were likely abandoned there. When we rescued them, they tested positive for leishmaniasis, but now it’s completely inactive. Both of them take leishguard every four months, and for years, their leishmaniasis has been inactive, meaning it tests negative in blood tests. Whoever adopts one of these beauties will need to ensure that they continue taking the medication and have their blood tested once a year to check that the leishmaniasis remains inactive.

Fredy is an active dog and would love to find a family that enjoys outdoor activities, such as hiking or going for a swim in a lake. After so many years in a kennel, we would love for someone to show Fredy all the beauty that the world has to offer.

We would like to find people who, in addition to being active, have some experience with dogs because after 7 long years in the shelter, Fredy will need a little help adapting to living with humans and feeling secure in this environment. Fredy is very intelligent, open, and willing to learn, so we believe he won’t have any problem adapting to his new life; he just needs understanding, trust, positive guidance, calmness, and security. If you’re looking to help a dog that truly needs and deserves it, Fredy is waiting for you!

All animals available for adoption have a microchip and passport. They have been tested for common diseases (Leishmania for dogs, FeLV and FIP for cats). Adult animals are fully vaccinated and castrated.

* Until complete adaptation, adult supervision with small children is essential.

** This means we have tested the dog with cats in the shelter and has shown no reactive behaviour, but this does not guarantee 100% compatibility with cats. Therefore, we always advise that cats and dogs are together only under surveillance.
