URGENT! Our shelter is in crisis. The increase in dogs and cats has skyrocketed expenses. Public aid only covers 11% of the annual costs, and private donations are not enough. Our facilities are collapsing, and the animals are stressed. We owe over 10,000 euros to veterinarians, and the bills keep increasing. In May alone, we received 37 dogs. PLEASE, HELP US (donate, become a member, volunteer, or foster)

History : Cierzo is named after the wind that usually blows in the Zaragoza area, because that is how he is supposed to run again one day. But first he has to recover properly. Cierzo was captured in a town near Zaragoza. He was in very bad shape, malnourished, infested with parasites and with an injured hind leg. In addition, he tested positive for leishmaniasis. Cierzo is now allowed to slowly gain weight in the shelter and is given daily allopurinol and Leishguard syrup for his leishmaniasis. In addition, infections had to be treated with antibiotics. So far, leishmaniasis does not seem to have affected the internal organs or the skin, so there is a good chance that the blood values ??will soon be under control. His leg is slowly getting stronger again. It is not yet predictable if he will be left with a slight limp.

Personality : Cierzo was a bit shy around people at first, but now he loves to be petted. We assume that he has never lived in a house, so his new family will need a little patience with him, but he trusts very quickly. He is absolutely friendly with dogs, he could immediately integrate into our Galgo-Podenco group. Cierzo is very calm at the moment, but once his health has recovered, he will have a strong hunting instinct due to his race.

We’re looking for : His new family, therefore, should ideally have access to a secure area.

Adoption costs for dogs  : ADULT 180€ / PUPPY 120€ All animals available for adoption have a microchip and passport. They have been tested for common diseases (Leishmania for dogs, FeLV and FIV for cats). Adult animals are fully vaccinated and castrated.

* Until complete adaptation, adult supervision with small children is essential.

** This means we have tested the dog with cats in the shelter and has shown no reactive behaviour, but this does not guarantee 100% compatibility with cats. Therefore, we always advise that cats and dogs are together only under surveillance.
