URGENT! Our shelter is in crisis. The increase in dogs and cats has skyrocketed expenses. Public aid only covers 11% of the annual costs, and private donations are not enough. Our facilities are collapsing, and the animals are stressed. We owe over 10,000 euros to veterinarians, and the bills keep increasing. In May alone, we received 37 dogs. PLEASE, HELP US (donate, become a member, volunteer, or foster)

Description : Hi, I’m Trixie. My brother Timi and I have lived here at the shelter since we were puppies. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen much of the world yet. Above all, we lack one thing: a comfortable home with our own bed, as well as people who love us and for whom we are not one of many dogs, but exactly “the” dog. The people at the shelter would like us to be adopted separately, which will probably be quite difficult for us since we have always been together. Currently, the two of us live together in a fold, and there is a reason for that. Unfortunately, we can’t be with the other dogs because we misbehave with them. But hey, we never learned to behave, we didn’t have a chance, we are a cocktail of unspent energy, desire to see the world and the high stress we have living in the shelter. Together we are really strong, almost a small gang. But if I’m being honest, it’s probably better if we each have our own house and there isn’t already a dog waiting for us there. Being a prince in your own house for once in your life would be great. Besides my own little bed, it would be great if the people in my future home were lovingly consistent with me, because I probably still have a lot to learn and catch up on.Especially in relation to other dogs, if we meet one on our walks. I can’t promise you if I’ll ever be able to develop a friendship with a dog other than my brother, but maybe we can work together. By the way, I would be the happiest dog if for once in my life I could have my own bed to rest when I’m tired. I don’t know what that is at all. I think people are great, you get cuddles from them when they have time for you. Unfortunately, there isn’t much of the good weather left here at the animal shelter, but when someone has time for me, I really enjoy it. I love when I am hugged, whether by men or women. The main thing is that they give me love. Unfortunately, leishmaniasis also caught me, as well as my brother. It’s not a serious condition and I have slightly lower levels than my brother, but I am also on allopurinol and am currently on a regimen of Leishguard syrup four times a year. So unfortunately I will take the suitcase with me. I would also like it to be different… I know that many people would prefer to have a young and above all healthy dog, but there are also dogs like me who unfortunately are not so lucky. And who can avoid being infected with leishmaniasis at some point in their life? But once you deal with the disease and then fight it off with medication, life can still be really good for someone like me. Until now, neither my brother Timy nor I have had any interested people, but we are really two good guys. Each for himself. And preferably alone. I also like to show that when the animal shelter volunteers have time for me and take me for walks. I walk very well on the leash and hardly pull. I’m also not usually interested in racers or cars.

Adoption costs for dogs  : ADULT 180€ / PUPPY 120€ All animals available for adoption have a microchip and passport. They have been tested for common diseases (Leishmania for dogs, FeLV and FIV for cats). Adult animals are fully vaccinated and castrated.

* Until complete adaptation, adult supervision with small children is essential.

** This means we have tested the dog with cats in the shelter and has shown no reactive behaviour, but this does not guarantee 100% compatibility with cats. Therefore, we always advise that cats and dogs are together only under surveillance.
