URGENT! Our shelter is in crisis. The increase in dogs and cats has skyrocketed expenses. Public aid only covers 11% of the annual costs, and private donations are not enough. Our facilities are collapsing, and the animals are stressed. We owe over 10,000 euros to veterinarians, and the bills keep increasing. In May alone, we received 37 dogs. PLEASE, HELP US (donate, become a member, volunteer, or foster)

Look at this little princess, Mollie’s story is a rather heartbreaking one because this is her second time in the shelter. Mollie first entered the shelter over 4 years ago when she was removed from a breeding house, this house was like a horror movie! Multiple cats in one house used solely for breeding and nothing more, covered in their own excrement and starving, used only to produce pedigree kittens. Mollie was never shown love or affection, she didn’t know what it was. She was adopted from the shelter and has since been returned to us due to the owners saying that she wasn’t friendly and that she used to toilet in the house. On arrival at the shelter for a second time Mollie was at first afraid, back to this place again! Mollie has since had a full medical examination and bloodwork done. The only thing that appeared was that she had some pain in her back, possibly from an injury and we think this is why she chose not to enter a litter box. At the shelter Mollie hasn’t toileted inside once, many cats previous would toilet in baskets and on blankets but Mollie always goes to the toilet in the outside area and for this reason we think anyone who is considering adopting her would need to let her have access to an outdoor area where she can relieve herself. Mollie is a princess and she deserves to be treated like one, within a few days at the shelter she loves attention, when you enter the cat area she is the first one waiting at the door to greet you and looks for cuddles. We really hope that she can find a loving home that will never return her to the shelter again.
