History : Meet Fénix, a young Podenco looking for a forever family and home! As is often the case in Spain, Fénix is one of those dogs that roams the fields alone and, with a bit of luck, can be rescued. Fénix was looking for food, but, above all, he was looking for a loving home where he would be loved and cared for.

Personality : Fénix is a young and playful dog in the company of other dogs. When he’s alone (without canine friends) he’s still a bit nervous. For now, for him to be courageous, he needs the company of other dogs, which allows him to orient himself and gives him security. It would go without saying after this, but just to be clear, Fénix gets along wonderfully with all dogs! Fénix is also very nice to people, but he is a bit reserved at first. As soon as other confident and more experienced dogs are around him, he opens up and can overcome his reservations towards humans. For this reason, for him we want a home with another self-confident first dog. Fénix is intelligent and eager to learn, and, after an initial warm-up phase, he is also very affectionate with people. We believe that with a little patience he can become a great family dog. Also, he gets along with cats.

We’re looking for : Due to his breed, a strong hunting instinct is to be expected when brought outdoors. His new family should be aware of this and allow Fenix to run freely on a regular basis. The ideal place for him would be a house with a fenced outdoor space where he can run. To work on Fenix’s shyness and teach him to trust, it would be highly recommended that he attends a good dog school, where they also teach how to establish a good relationship between humans and dogs. Fénix is a diamond in the rough with his whole life ahead of him. We would very much like Podenco lovers, or those who want to become Podenco lovers, to take charge of this sweetheart.
